Cara was amazing to work with! Her professionalism was outstanding and she knew how to have a good time with us. We didn't want one of those photographers that dictated your every move and needed a list of every persons name that you may or may not have a picture with. We wanted more candid shots and not so many formal ones, and Cara was our man :) She would let us know what time it was so we could get to the places we needed to be and kept everybody in a light and easy going mood. I would totally recommend her to anyone for any occasion!

My husband loves photography and was very interested in taking time to choose our photographer. I had seen Cara's work from one of my friend's wedding and knew immediately that was who I wanted to work with. Adam and I met with Cara first and that ended up being our only appointment to interview photorgrahers. Cara took the time to talk with both of us about our special day and her photography. She suggested ideas for our engagement session that fit our very unique personalities and was so great to work with over our 15 month engagement. On the wedding day, Cara, Jonathan and Amber were amazing. We have very large families with lots of personalities and they were able to capture all our special moments. We have had four shoots with F8 so far (engagement, wedding, bridal, boudior) and they were worth every penny. We can't wait to share other live events with Cara and the team!

We went to great lengths in the selection of vendors for our wedding. In the area of photography, we took especially great care to make sure that we picked the right company and ended up looking through some 500 different wedding photographers’ websites and attending several wedding vendor fairs. Needless to say, after all the numerous hours of research, we had a good idea about what we were looking for and could rightly judge among photographers. We were looking for something that stood out from the rest, so when we say that F8 Photo Studios was the best of the best, it has weight to it. Cara, who is the principal photographer and owner of F8 Photo Studios, showed consistent excellence in her online portfolio and when we finally met her face to face, she effortlessly balanced being very open, courteous and professional while keeping herself fun and putting us at ease. When you entrust the photography of your wedding day to someone, it is truly an important and sometimes difficult decision. You want to know that the one piece of the wedding that you actually get to keep is going to be properly taken care of, and that your memories will be properly preserved in those pictures. Cara made us feel at ease right away with her confident and determined personality. She is the kind of person that will stop at nothing to deliver her best work on each and every project that she undertakes. As we looked at portfolio after portfolio of her work, and saw her consistent excellence, it became ever more apparent that we were making the right decision. As for the actual wedding day, Cara was perfect. Before the ceremony she captured excellent bridal portraits and bridal party shots and then was quickly able to turn around and capture excellent pictures of me and my groomsmen that really showed how close we were. During the majority of the ceremony, we didn’t even know she was there. She was effortlessly and unobtrusively capturing our wedding day and we will cherish the photographs that she took forever. After the ceremony, she was easily able to balance capturing great photographs with directing family and friends where to properly stand and go for great posed shots. Then she captured amazingly artistic shots of Jessica and I that really showcased our love for one another and our personalities. At the reception she captured all the details we wanted and all the important moments. We enjoyed talking, joking, and laughing with her and were saddened when it was time for her to leave because we wanted to party with her at the reception! All in all, Cara showcased F8 Photo Studios to be a consistently excellent venue for capturing important life moments with a style that has proven to be, and will continue to be, vivid, vibrant, and current for many years to come. F8 Photos are amazing and creative photographers. I am happy I chose them. They are on the pricey side but they are worth it. My engagement photos look amazing. In one photograph sitting, my husband and I had so many different settings and poses that it looks like we were photographed on different days. They also have an amazing photo booth that was the hit of my reception. Jonathan and Kara are awesome and take amazing, creative pics.

Cara and Amber shot both our engagement photos and our wedding. They were both fabulous and incredibly fun and friendly to work with. F8 creates amazing images that capture memories of your special occasion. Cara is such a pleasure to work with and has amazing energy. She can make anyone laugh and is passionate about her work. It took a while to get our proofs back, but the wait was definitely worth it. I would wholeheartedly recommend Cara and F8 Photo studios to anyone looking for beautiful pictures and a pleasant photography experience! I would hire them again in a heartbeat!

My daughter and new son-in-law's photos were absolutely beautiful! Cara captured every moment of the day. She was with us a long time that day and was very accomodating to our wants and needs. She took many candids the bridal couple wanted and we hardly kknew she and her partner were there. Great, Gorgeous pictures we have.

f8 provided great images for our engagement session as well as our wedding. cara is friendly and easy to get along with - very important for the person you will be with the entire day of your wedding. her images are not traditional - which is what we liked. we didn't want our photos to look like everyone else's! we will cherish the pictures she took forever! they captured our emotions and the spirit of the day perfectly! several people who have seen our images have said that they looked like something out of a bride magazine or fashion catalog!! made me happy with my decision to use this photographer. :)

The quality of photography is unfathomable. Cara and Jonathan are exceptionally creative photographers. I would highly recommend them to anyone - getting married, in need of a family photograph, head shots, etc... Their turn time is above average, but once you get your photos, you will be pleased.

I would recommend them for sure--very different from any other photographer in the area. Their quality of work and final product really stand out.

Let me preface by saying that we had Jonathan as our wedding photographer. This review does not apply to Cara, who in our opinion now as we see other couples' pictures, does better work, is better with customer service, responds more readily and quickly and generally, carries the studio. The weeks leading into our wedding, I emailed, called and left messages for Jonathan. He is really bad about answering, and even worse at returning calls. On my wedding day, he tells me that the reason he did not respond to my messages (from more than a week ago) is because he was in the woods and had poor reception. I had a list of (maximum) 15 images I had requested to be captured. Jonathan did not acknowledge my requests, and he failed to capture very simple images I requested - of my musician, our rings, etc. His assistant, Amber, told me at the reception that she had seen the list but I still didn't see images I had requested. Those are just the tip of the iceberg. Jonathan severely under-delivered on his videography, the very reason we even signed with them. We had parts of the video that were shaky, with zooming in and out, black out scenes, and just generally lacking creativity. The score was the best part, the only part we truly loved. When we asked for adjustments, he complained that he put in HOURS to edit the video. I won't question that; but I can guarantee if I paid someone else to put in HOURS to edit a video, we'd get something better. He contended that the final product was really good, according to "everyone else". Well, who are you making the video for - everyone else or the customers who pay you? Then, to top it all off, he sends two very unprofessional emails to my husband and while emails can be interpreted several different ways, suffice it to say that at best, he was unprofessional and at worst, just plain rude. Jonathan finally begrudgingly alters the video, and were we wrong to not hold our breaths? No, because he deliberately left a piece of the video completely silent. No music, no live talking, just utter silence. I guess it was his way of showing us he can get even. :) Honestly, we wish things were different. After all, we'd be much happier with our choices and our products. It seems we are the outliers in these reviews, but take a closer look at who is leaving these reviews. Most of them are likely left by Cara's customers, or other businesses who - lets be honest - have a vested interest in recommending friends "in the business". You have ONE chance to make the right choice, and you're stuck with the results for the rest of your life. Do NOT get sold on the initial sales pitch. Be sure to review and vet experience levels. Be prepared to deal with the fact that the service you receive at the START may be the best it's going to get. Those are things we wish we knew. Or, just save yourself the heartache and choose Cara.
