This was an amazing site. But there were a few things that we were not happy with. First of all they did not record my rehearsal time like we were told they did and when we called to confirm everything a few weeks before the wedding we come to find out that they never recorded it and would not do anything to compensate for their mistake. There were also a lot of rules to have it there, which was just frustrating. The workers were not friendly and were very rude. But the place is gorgeous!

If you want a beautiful place for a wedding setting then Castle McCulloch is the place that you want to go. The wonderful castle provides the most perfect background for pictures and the landscaping is wonderful also.

I recently hosted my daughters wedding at Castle McCulloch. It was that fairytale wedding she has always wanted. The reception in The Crystal Garden was breathtakingly beautiful.

The location is overpriced. The castle staff is rude. The water around the castle is filthy and full of mosquitoes. There is very limited parking. I strongly recommend choosing another location!

The quality of service: I thought overall they did very well, the big thing was that as we had to deal with different staff members at the castle, we realized that when we talked with them in order to plan for our wedding day they were accommodating, informative and experienced. But as met with our caterer, DJ, etc. We realized that the staff at castle Mcculloch seemed very disconnected from the events that they were orchestrating behind the scenes. Funny enough, the lady we had spoken to extensively admitted when we met here that she had not actually even attended a wedding there. A big example for us was that they told us that you could easily fit 150 people standing the great hall, when we spoke with our caterer, she said that it was definitely a tight fit for people and potentially awkward. So a big piece of advice from our situation is to ask your vendors if you are having trouble coordinating things on your wedding day. They have great, practical advice. On the responsiveness and professionalism, they did very well. They have their system and are good at executing it. Value of cost was great! But for us, we booked very early in the season and got extremely good prices because of our early booking date. Flexibility: They are not very hospitable or accommodating. They don't give on chairs, tables, etc for the outside. It was definitely an inconvenience to have those little matters to have to take care of, but such is life, right?

Castle McCulloch is beautiful, but you will pay a lot, and receive very little service. The venue is expensive for the region and they enforce a lot of rules and fees. I suggest if you have your heart on getting married there, then hire a wedding planner who can handle those issues for you. But I warn you that they have a preferred vendor list full of vendors that did nothing to deserve that title. They paid to be on that list, offering no testimonials or professional accreditations. I warn you when using any of their recommended vendors. You can however bring in whomever you want. The person from the venue on the day of your event will not be helpful in the slightest way and will even have an attitude about everything. They won’t let your vendors in early to setup, they don’t help with tear down (even though they charge you for a reset) and are rude. At the event I went to, I saw a 7-month pregnant wedding planner rolling a 8-ft table down the DARK hill… I asked if I could help and she was so thankful as the castle requires the tables to be up at the loading dock… but offers no assistance. I wouldn’t recommend this location at all.. there are much more beautiful locations that are more affordable and willing to make it the event of your dreams!

The Castle was a beautiful ceremony and reception cite. The place was beautiful and the employees were very helpful. It is a strict business with little flexibility (unless you are willing to pay extra for it), but it was well worth it. I couldn't have asked for a better or more beautiful place to get married.

They required you to pay for everything that you could pay for, we needed an extra hour and there was no one using the place before us but we still had to pay $100 extra. Other than that kind of thing they were very good.

The Castle was a beautiful and unique place to hold our Wedding. The prices are quite high to rent the place, and the service is not very flexiable. Certain Packages are offered to choose from.

The Crystal Gardens was beautifully decorated for Christmas. The Christmas lights were a gorgeous addition to my winter wonderland wedding. They even helped me arrange for Santa and the Grinch to stop by my reception.

The castle is beautiful, but I warn and welcome those who want to use it the same time that I did (December). Warn because there is a lot going on due to the castle's event--Christmas at the Castle and welcome because the price is much more reasonable then during the spring, fall, and especially summer.

The Castle was a beautiful place to get married! Even though it was a little expensive, my family and friends and I loved the end result!

Castle McCulloch is beautiful, but expect to pay a lot if you book here. For starters as a venue the cost is moderate to expensive in comparison to other vendors in the triad area of North Carolina. Then they have preferred vendors that they expect you to use which will get you discounts, but if you don't use preferred vendors for certain things like caterers for example, you have to pay additional fees, and the discounts don't apply to the additional fees. If you want alcohol, which you'll likely expect for your toasts, you'll to pay extra for bar service and the discounts for preferred vendors also don't apply to this. If you want a full bar service for mixed drinks, you're going to have to buy all of your own alcohol and bring it in yourself, but you can't have it there any sooner than 72 hours before your event and you have to take the time to label every single one of your bottles and/or cases of beer, wine, champagne. In the time that you book, you have to allow set up time for your vendors as the Castle will not let your vendors on any sooner than the start time that you book, which lessens the actual amount of time for your ceremony and reception if you have the reception on site like we did. You can't use just anyone, as they do have some vendors who have been banned from their venue. A lot of the preferred vendors are just as expensive and are even overpriced. We liked none of the caterers on their list, found a much cheaper florist on our own, and a cheaper photographer. But we did have a great experience with Island Sound DJ's and Rev Ron Grillo who were on the preferred vendor list at the time.So yes, be prepared that you are going to have annoyances and that there are going to be extra costs than just the original booking. However, the grounds and facilities are beautiful and with the right vendors the atmosphere of your wedding will be amazing. All of our guests said that our wedding was beautiful, and kept gushing about how beautiful the Hillside Terrace and the Crystal Garden were. At the end of the day, my husband and I will say that Castle McCulloch was worth the money that we paid.

We loved the site, and leading up to the wedding the staff was great and very helpful....however, at the actual event the person onsite who was there to help us disappeared for long periods of time and didn't know what all we had paid for so they tried to shut things down early and they messed with the catering setup. Also they use their own bartenders, and the woman who was working our wedding was extremely rude, told guests we were out of things when we weren't (we supplied our own alcohol) and argued with my mother over the placement of the champagne fountain.

We had our dream wedding at Castle McCulloch in Jamestown, North Carolina. We had many, many people comment on how beautiful our wedding was. It was a gorgeous place to have our wedding. We go back to the Castle for the special events they hold there for the holidays.

I had a beautiful wedding at Castle McCulloch. They were able to put together everything for me in just 5 weeks. Even though it rained on my wedding day it could not have gone any better. There was more then one wedding that day but you could not tell that we were not the only ones there!
